Among all the TV series I have seen in my life, I would choose without a doubt "La Casa de Papel", a Spanish story about the heist into the Fabrica de Moneda y Timbre. It is by far, in my opinion, the most interesting and catching series recently, not only because of the actors' performance but also because of the setting in which the watcher is got into being a very awkward and unusual one.
One of the things I would like to remark is the actors' performance. Even though the director made a really great job on creating the characters, making them appealing and true to life, the casting was almost perfect, which made the roleplay come to life in a really good way. The character of Berlin is very well achieved, the tranquility it transmits in those scenes in which the watcher is on the edge of the seat at only one step of despair makes him a very strange but great character. As Berlin, all characters are very special and each of them is performed at perfection.
Another huge point to highlight is the unusual setting of being on the side of the bad guys. The most interesting thing about the series is the unknown feeling the watcher has of being on the side of the robbers. That ethical conflict is what makes it so catchy; it introduces the watcher into a new and unknown world. Modern series need to be original to be successful, if not they become very predictable. The feeling of not knowing what is coming next is what makes the watcher see one episode after the other.
Rounding things up, "La Casa de Papel" gained so much popularity that you can not miss the opportunity of watching it. I would definitely recommend watching it and I can ensure it will be worth your time. If you like action, drama and some comedy it is the perfect series for you!
